There’s a Japanese belief that an invisible red string ties two people together, no matter time, place, or circumstance. Ours just had a few extra knots before pulling tight.
For years, we lived parallel lives, close in spirit and place, but never at the same time. Life shaped us both in different ways, guiding us through experiences that prepared us for each other.
We needed that time, and looking back, we wouldn’t change a thing.
Life eventually led us both back to South Australia, albeit at different times. Big decisions were made. Priorities shifted. We each focused on building a life that felt intentional and grounded, without knowing those choices were quietly leading us toward each other.
Then, drawn together by a shared love of music, we finally met. It felt effortless, familiar, and certain. We connected, we fell in love... and that was our story, written.
We’ve since made our home in South Australia by the coast, finding joy in everyday adventures and the simple moments that keep us close.
Marion Bay has always been special to us, and last year it became unforgettable. Despite a lot of rain, a busted car ball joint, and everything else that could go wrong, we got engaged. It felt like the perfect, imperfect moment — just us, the place we love, and the start of our next chapter.
Now we get to return, surrounded by the people who have supported us, loved us, and stood by us from the very beginning, to celebrate this story we’ve built together.
It was worth the wait, and we couldn’t be happier to share it with the people who mean the most.
